Manila Boat Club

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Benjie Ramos. Benjie was such a vital member of the Manila Boat Club and continued as a guiding light even when he no longer rowed. He will be sorely missed indeed, but never forgotten. The energy and foresight that Benjie contributed to Philippine Rowing, not only to the Manila Boat Club, but also to the Philippine Rowing Association was outstanding and certainly was the main force behind the continuing success of the Philippines in interntional competitions, with very little outside support. Happily that is changing now, but Benjie certainly led the way. He was a great source of wisdom and guidance to the Board of the MBC. If we can gather a sufficient number of people, MBC would be delighted to host a memorial for all those who would like to come and reflect on th relife of a wonderful person whose passing surely leaves the world a poorer place.
